The Script（手創樂團） 於 2014年 所發佈的歌曲〈Man on a Wire〉，
收錄在他們的第四張錄音室專輯《No Sound Without Silence》中。
這支來自愛爾蘭的搖滾樂團向來擅長用極具
渲染力的旋律和直白卻富有詩意的歌詞，
唱出男人的脆弱與深情。
這首歌最震撼的地方在於它的視覺化隱喻。
我每次聽這首歌，腦海裡都會浮現主唱 Danny O'Donoghue 在

這是整首歌的核心意象，
靈感來自傳奇走鋼索家 Philippe Petit。
在這裡形容失戀後的人，雖然還活著，
但每一秒都像在進行極高風險的生存挑戰，
任何一點點關於前任的消息（像是看見對方有新對象）
都足以讓人情緒崩潰（墜地）。
"Heart is in my throat"：
這是一個非常經典的英文成語，
字面意思是「心臟在喉嚨裡」，
形容極度緊張、焦慮或恐懼。
在台灣口語裡可以說「心懸在嗓子眼」。
"No safety net" (沒有安全網)：
意指這段感情結束後，他失去了原本的支撐與保護。
當那個人離開後，
他只能獨自面對可能粉身碎骨的風險。
"Counting on high hopes"：
這裡的 "High hopes" 帶有一種悲壯感。
