Belinda Carlisle 於 1989 年所發佈的歌曲。
〈Summer Rain〉由 Robbie Seidman 與 Maria Vidal 共同創作，
Rick Nowels 製作，
最早收錄於第三張個人錄音室專輯《Runaway Horses》。
歌曲之後於 1990 年陸續在不同市場推出單曲。
這首歌在不同地區的單曲發行順序並不相同。
美國把它列為《Runaway Horses》的第二支單曲，
澳洲則於 1990 年 3 月 19 日推出，
英國一直到同年 12 月才發行，
成為當地這張專輯最後一支單曲。
官方 MV 由 Andrew Morahan 執導。
Morahan 同時也是〈La Luna〉MV 的導演，
〈Summer Rain〉的 MV 直接採取戰時送別的敘事，
讓歌曲的年代感與畫面更加明確。
這首歌後來在澳洲留下特別深的影響。
2004 年澳洲電子舞曲團體 Slinkee Minx 翻唱〈Summer Rain〉，
新版本甚至在當地登上第 5 名，
比 Belinda Carlisle 原版當年的第 6 名還高一位。
Belinda Carlisle 自己也一直很喜歡這首作品。
她曾在 2013 年表示，
〈Summer Rain〉是自己錄過的歌曲中
最喜歡的一首。
《Runaway Horses》裡有不少更大的單曲，
但〈Summer Rain〉靠著強烈旋律、弦樂與
90 年代初期 Power Pop 的厚度，
90 年代初期 Power Pop 的厚度，
成了她作品裡很耐聽的一首。

And his kisses hotter than the Santa Ana winds
Santa Ana winds 指南加州常見的強勁乾燥焚風，
通常從內陸吹向沿海，
氣溫高、濕度低，
也經常和野火風險一起被提起。
所以 hotter than the Santa Ana winds 不只是普通的「很熱」，
而是拿一股出了名又乾又燙的風來形容他的吻。
這個比喻也讓整首歌多了一點很明顯的美國西岸色彩。
And we poured our hearts out
Pour your heart out 是「把心裡的話全部說出來」，
也就是毫無保留地傾訴。
有意思的是前一句剛唱：
I remember the rain pouring down。
雨水一直往下倒，
兩個人的心事也跟著全部倒出來。
同一個 pour，一邊寫雨，一邊寫感情，
讓這場夏雨不只是背景，
也變成兩人最後一次把話說盡的時刻。
It was the last time that I saw him in the summer rain
前面整段回憶一直很浪漫，
直到這一句才真正把歌曲的重量壓下來。
Last time 表示那場車站送別，
後來沒有迎來下一次見面。
歌詞沒有直接交代男方之後究竟發生什麼事，
因此不能硬說他一定陣亡。
但前面的 military train 已經點出軍事背景，
MV 又把這層意象進一步拍成戰時離別。
歌曲真正確定的只有一件事：
那場夏雨，成了她最後一次見到他。

這裡的 dancing 已經不是現在真的還在跳舞。
那一晚早就過去了，人也已經不在身邊。
但記憶一直停在當時，所以她心裡的某個部分，

這也是副歌一直重複同一句的原因：
現實往前走了，記憶卻沒有。

閃電、雷聲與夏雨在這裡變成記憶的開關。
每當相似的天氣再次出現，
過去那一晚就跟著回來。
所以後面才會唱 I can feel you when the wind blows，
不是在說真的看見幽靈，
而是某些聲音、氣味與天氣，
會讓一個早已離開的人突然變得很近。
人可能已經走遠，但記憶有時候只需要一場雨，
就全部回來了。
