Red Hot Chili Peppers於2002年的歌曲，這首歌主要是主唱Anthony描述他的愛情生活所寫的歌，
雖然內容相當的匪夷所思...，
但當初發行時唱片公司用這首歌作主打歌，
結果爆紅了，可能是這首歌的節奏感吸引人吧。
值得一提的是這首歌的MV，
搭計程車搭到瘋狂粉絲的車也真是夠驚悚了，
還遇到個神經病，
換成一般人應該是嚇死了，

這首歌在當時的主流搖滾榜上霸佔了整整 14 週的冠軍，
刷新了當時的紀錄。這首歌完美展現了樂團在千禧年後的進化：
主唱 Anthony Kiedis 那種機關槍式的饒舌 Verse，
配上吉他手 John Frusciante 靈魂深處的優美和聲。

"Dani, the girl"
這是 RHCP 宇宙中最重要的角色之一。
Dani 第一次出現在〈Californication〉，
接著在〈By The Way〉露臉，
最後在〈Dani California〉中擁有了完整的故事。
Anthony Kiedis 曾解釋 Dani 代表了
他生命中遇過的許多女性的綜合體，
象徵著那種浪跡天涯、帶著傷痕卻依舊迷人的女孩。
"Steak knife, card shark, Con job, boot cut"
這種充滿畫面感的名詞堆疊是 Anthony 典型的創作手法。
這並非在敘述連貫的故事，
而是在拼貼洛杉磯街頭的各種意象。
這些詞組合在一起，營造出一種混亂、
躁動且充滿危險氣息的都市感。
"Dogtown"
指的通常是加州聖塔莫尼卡與威尼斯海灘之間的區域，
那是 70 年代傳奇滑板團隊 Z-Boys 的發源地。
作為道地的加州樂團，
RHCP 經常在歌詞中致敬這種街頭文化。
"Marquee, overload / oversold"
Marquee 指的是戲院或演出的跑馬燈招牌。
從 "overload"（情緒超載）到 "oversold"（票賣完了/被過度推銷），
暗示了這種在成名與狂歡邊緣的虛無感，
即便燈光再亮、人潮再多，
內心依然在等待那個特定的人。
"I know you from before"
結尾這句神來之筆，將時間感拉回。
