Jon Bon Jovi 原本是受邀替 1993 年
由蓋瑞·歐德曼主演的黑幫電影
《染血羅密歐》（Romeo Is Bleeding）量身打造這首主題曲。
結果 Jon 去參加內部試片後，覺得這部電影實在拍得太爛了，
爛到他老大哥當場決定把歌抽回來，
直接丟進倉庫生灰塵。
直到後來籌備精選輯時，
朋友無意間聽見這首 Demo，驚為天人並力勸他拿出來發行，
這才造就了這首霸榜全球的世紀神曲。
在當時西雅圖油漬搖滾（Grunge）正把
傳統流行搖滾打得滿地找牙的年代，
〈Always〉用極致的深情跟灑狗血的張力，硬生生殺出了一條血路。'

這句話完美點出了這首歌的起源。
Jon Bon Jovi 當時是為了電影
《染血羅密歐》（Romeo Is Bleeding）寫下這首歌。
雖然電影被他嫌棄到不行，
但他保留了這個極具戲劇張力的意象：
一個原本該浪漫無比的情聖羅密歐，
現在卻因為失去愛人而遍體鱗傷。

這是英文中非常經典的浪漫誇飾法（Hyperbole）。
如果「永遠」已經是時間的極限，
