Adele 於 2007 年 10 月 22 日所發佈的歌曲〈Hometown Glory〉，
是這位當今全球樂壇「天后中的天后」音樂生涯的起點，
也是她第一首正式發行的出道單曲。

Missing out the cracks in the pavement (避開地磚裂縫)
這是一個非常英式的童年迷信與強迫症行為。
英國小孩常玩一種遊戲叫
"Step on a crack, break your mother's back"
（踩到裂縫，媽媽背痛/倒大楣）。
Adele 雖然已經是青少女，
但在家鄉走路時仍下意識地玩這個遊戲，
展現了她對這裡的依戀與童心未泯。
Thick and opaque (濃稠又不透明)
這裡指的是倫敦特有的空氣品質——
霧氣（Fog）混合著城市污染（Smog）。
一般人可能會覺得空氣差很討厭，
但在 Adele 眼裡，這種灰濛濛、看不清前方的空氣，
反而是倫敦獨有的浪漫與歸屬感。
