這裡的 "Mould"（框架/模子）是整首歌的精神核心。
它隱喻了社會體制、階級地位，

這首歌的採樣來自 The Andrew Oldham Orchestra
翻唱滾石樂團的〈The Last Time〉。
雖然 The Verve 獲得了採樣許可，
但 Allen Klein（滾石前經紀人）指控
他們使用的份量超出了協議。
這導致 Richard Ashcroft 在很長一段時間內
被迫將詞曲創作署名改為 Jagger/Richards。
諷刺的是，這首歌成為了他最紅的作品，
但他卻拿不到分毫版稅，
直到 2019 年才拿回屬於自己的名分。
